Growing up we made many trips to Amelia Island - sometimes with other families, sometimes just the five of us, but this year was extra special....it was the first family vacation where EVERYONE could be there! For the last several years everyone has had different conflicts but this year we finally all made it. The week was full of good food, lots of pictures, putt-putt, ice cream outings, golf, a hilarious round of Minute to Win it, shopping, and more...
My parents loved having all their girls, son-in-laws and granddaughters together for the week. 
Hadley was a hoot to hang out with....she loved the ocean and jumping in the pool. Reese was perfectly content sitting in the sand (and maybe putting the sand in her mouth....) 
Heather & Scott's vacation as parents-to-be....next year they'll be the ones with the little one!

I think one of the things we all love most about Amelia is the downtown area of Fernandina. We go there most nights for dinner or at least ice cream (cute ice cream parlor below)....it makes you feel like things are simple and easy as you stroll down the historic tree-lined streets.
It's hard to believe summer is almost over, and the vacation that we longed for has come and gone. But I am so thankful that we had that week together and can't wait to do it again!
