So far I've been unsuccessful in growing things on our back porch.
2008 - pansies died in my window boxes (that are actually porch railing boxes).
2009 - tomato plant had a massive case of bottom end rot and only produced one red normal tomato (which so happened to be the size of a golf ball)
Needless to say, I took 2010 off after JNS proclaimed I just didn't have a green thumb. However, I'm giving it another try this year....I'm trying for some herbs, tomatoes and bell peppers. The good news is, I tried tulips for the spring and they were a success! Well, sort of...they were kind of short, but they did bloom and they were beautiful! My dad tells me it's hard to grow things on a concrete garden in the city :) but I'm determined to make it work this year! We'll hope the tulips were sign of good fortune to come....
